BPS COACHING LAB
What if ski coaching could be done in a more effective way? Tom Gellie has helped thousands of skiers all over the world improve their skiing. He has refined a method of online coaching that is built around how we learn to move. Serious about improving your skiing? This is the way.
Over 10 years I’ve completed more than 10,000 personal video analyses — reviewing real skiers, identifying real problems, and learning what actually works. That’s more than 1,000 every season. It’s that depth of experience that makes BPS content different — it’s built on what I’ve seen work, repeatedly, across thousands of skiers just like you.

COACHING LAB
$1199-$2199
Group Coaching with Tom Gellie
· 40 Spots Only
The Coaching Lab is Tom’s group coaching program. A small, carefully selected group of skiers working on their game across the season. You get two video analyses per week with personal feedback from Tom, your own private coaching channel, and a place in a fortnightly group Zoom where Tom breaks down the skills and drills he’s seeing come up across the group. Every session is recorded and yours to keep.
One of the things that makes the Lab work is the group itself. You have the option to follow other members’ journeys — and in six seasons, some of the biggest breakthroughs have come from skiers watching someone else’s feedback and trying something that clicked.
8 Weeks — $1,199
12 Weeks — $1,799
16 Weeks — $2,199
Extra video submissions available at $100 each. Includes 6 months access to the Big Picture Skiing video library.

When does the program run?
The coaching lab operates between Dec and early April every year. It is designed for skiers who get longer periods of time on snow. If you only get to ski 1-2 weeks a season then your best option is the Big Picture Skiing video library membership.
How do I receive feedback?
In the coaching lab you will have your own “coaching channel” where you submit videos and questions to Tom. It’s like having what’s app but I can send voiceover’s and draw comparisons on your skiing to what you are imaging to do.
You can ask questions for clarification or give updates.
What do I need to get the most out of the programs?
Ability to get video to me. This is the main way I can help you improve. If you have a partner or friend to film with a smartphone this is perfect.
Can’t get someone to video? Not to worry. A 360 camera with a selfie stick can get great video of you performing many drills and types of ski turns. We have had amazing results with skiers that only submitted video using these types of cameras.
You don’t need to attend the zoom classes. Catching up on recordings gives you freedom and flexibility. Got a niggling question? Just turn on your camera and send us a video message directly. This makes it easier for you to explain how you’re feeling and show us what you mean. Some of the biggest breakthroughs our students have are in the living room, simulating their skiing problems.

Testimonials
"Working with Tom and being part of the coaching lab is the best investment I have made to improve my skiing. Through Tom's knowledge, expertise, and teachings I feel that I have a true understanding of the sport. Tom's ability to provide an intent helps me focus on a specific daily task. As a result I feel that my skiing continues to improve. Tom and makes you confront your limiting factors and provides a sense of accountability. As Tom's thinking evolves on skiing technique, equipment, etc he is able to communicate a clearer message. It is fun to see how he evolves."

“Tom is tops. As a PSIA level 2 shooting for my level 3, he has been invaluable. I’ve tried private instructors and PSIA clinics, and while they have their place, when I talk with Tom and focus on the topics he curates through his coaching, my skiing gets better. His unmistakable intelligence and depth of skiing expertise, especially in biomechanics, paired with his incomparable library of high quality instructional videos are unmatched. There may be others ways to improve your skiing, but none are better than Tom if you are a high end instructor or recreational skier. Thanks Tom!”

“Being part of the BPS Coaching Lab was the most wonderful opportunity to develop my skiing! The very specific video feedback was so helpful in knowing how to fix problems, outlining the most critical element to work on, giving me drills to practise, informing me of what feelings to expect and giving me tools to analyse my own skiing. The encouragement motivated me to keep trying and persevering. Watching other people’s videos was also enormously beneficial, as I learnt important points from their feedback. Zoom calls enriched my learning and created a clearer picture in my mind of what to do and how to achieve it.“

“After two days, I’m a believer. You’ve done more for me in two days than five years of masters race coaching.”

Applying to work with Tom
Not all applicants are accepted as I have a limited number of spaces. Online coaching also works best if the skier can find time to work on tasks, drills and skills and provide the coaches with some level of video for feedback. These are all taken into consideration for your application into the BPS academy.
Whether you are a new or returning student, please fill out the application form by clicking the APPLY button.
Zoom sessions cover a variety of topics. To see some of these you can view the collection from last winter here (see topics but to view videos you must be an academy student)
